Events Assistant
Location: New York, NY

Midtown brokerage firm working in international markets seeks a highly polished events/hospitality professional to join our team as receptionist and events team member. The ideal candidate must possess superb guest services skills.

The position reports to, and works closely with, the director of conferences & events as right hand support for all conferences, special programs, and a variety of other events and administrative projects.

Candidates should have experience of at least 3 years in a professional corporate setting. Nights and weekends are required during events.
Duties and responsibilities include, among others:
• Demonstrated ability to understand and execute team logistics.
• Ability to work with established procedures;
• Superior multitasking and time management skills;
• Applicants should have sufficient work/life experience to be able manage high volumes of incoming work and with the ability to problem solve and be calm and graceful under pressure.

Events
• Excellent proofreading skills;
• Manage attendee registrations and communications across several platforms;
• Provide accurate event tracking and reporting;
• Assisting with building and maintaining electronic and print materials for events;
• Possess mid-level computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Some graphics or html experience helpful but not required; Candidates should possess the following attributes: Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment;
• Extremely organized with strong attention to detail;
• Proactive problem solver who can prioritize work in fast pace environment;
• Able to work as part of a team, as well as independently on simultaneous projects;
• Fast learner;
• Excellent written and oral communication;
• Desire to learn and grow.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred plus 3 years corporate experience, however we are willing and eager to train the right individual with previous experience in events.
